Brew fit for a king (or a president). Arkansas has always been a haven for beer drinkers, but for years it never had beer it could call its own. Diamond Bear Brewing Company changed that. And along the way, they just happened to garner the attention of a former president, who, rumor has it, lists their IPA as his favorite brew. Founded in 2000, Diamond Bear was Little Rock’s first production brewery in 15 years. Since then it’s expanded throughout the South, and with good reason – it’s damn good beer. And it has the awards to back it up....

Great beer in the heart of the Ozarks. When you think of the Ozarks, beer may not be the first thing you think of. Beautiful countryside, absolutely. Homespun quirkiness and folksy wisdom, sure. Moonshine, absolutely. But beer? That’s a new one. One brewery is setting out to change that. To do that, they need some serious talent and beer that blows right past “good” and breaks through into “amazing.” Beer like the kind they brew at Blue Nose Brewery. It’s really a home brewer’s dream: three beer-loving friends, Nathan Garcia, Jordan Isenberg and David Kelley started in a...

Cop-brewed beer in a robber’s hideout. A century and a half ago, Jesse James used a cave in Eastern Nebraska as one of his hideouts. Fast forward to the present. The cave, called appropriately enough as Robber’s Cave, is now the home of a brewing company with roots in law enforcement. Old Jesse must be rolling in his grave. If he wasn’t, he’d pop right on up and head over to Blue Blood Brewing Company for a pint of their fantastic beer. Founded in December 2011 by a couple of guys with a love for craft beer, including former...

Dogs Allowed: A Look at Kansas City’s New Dog Bars If you know where to look, there are some really cool bars in Kansas City that let you bring your dog. But what if there was a watering hole where dogs were not only allowed, but encouraged? A place where you could go to hang out with dogs, your friends, and maybe even some dog-loving singles, if that’s what you’re looking for? You’re in luck. Kansas City is soon to have not one, but two such establishments in the very near future. Of course, I’m talking about Dog Park...
