Partner Spotlight: Flat Branch Brewing, You’ll Love This Place

Happy hour, game day, date night — great beer anytime.

I have a friend who lives in Columbia. A Mizzou employee, one thing I know for sure is that every Thursday after work will find him in one place - Flat Branch Pub & Brewing. Why? Two reasons: great food and great beer.  What more could you ask for?

The perfect spot for a work happy hour, to catch a game or just head out to eat with the family, Flat Branch has everything you’re looking for. Especially beer. I'm a sucker for fruit beer, so I always start with the Bluesberry. A take on their classic wheat (which is great in its own right), this fantastically refreshing brew has blueberry puree infused twice during the brewing process to give it the perfect tartness and a rich purple color.

In the mood for something with a bit more bite? The Hudsons Extra Special Bitter (ESB) is a great take on a British style you don’t often find in the U.S. With a sweet aroma, it’s medium body and hoppy bite form a delightful point and counterpoint.

And if you’re looking for something dark, the Oil Change Oatmeal Stout will leave you satisfied. As dark as its name suggests, this dark beer has a roasty, choclate-y aroma and a smooth mouthfeel.

Of course, this is just the start Flat Branch has a cast of 12 rotating brews available at any given moment, with new styles being brewed all the time.

If you’re looking for a bit of nosh while you drink, Flat Branch does food just as well as they do beer. Their brick oven pizza smashes the idea that pubs can’t also do great pizza. Try the Missouri BBQ Chicken or Margherita for a real treat.

Not in the mood for pizza? No problem. The Katy Trail Bratwurst is a great take on a German favorite and the Adobo Burrito is one of the most satisfying burritos you’ll find. And if you’re on a paleo diet (no beer?!?!), they even have a Paleo Platter that not only meets your macros, but will actually satisfy your tastebuds.

So there you have it. Next time you’re in CoMo, whether for a football game, traveling through, or because you live there, don’t miss Flat Branch.
