Cheers, the Nebraska version. If you’re like me, you have a very specific idea of what a drinking establishment should be like. Pumping techno music, $15 dollar Bud Lights and Situation clones beating the beat up sounds terrible. Corporate bars with their generic designs, staff and feel are equally unappealing. A hole in the wall with sticky floors and two kinds of warm beer on tap, while potentially charming, also isn’t the type of place I like to call “my bar.” No, whenever you need to take a break from your worries, whenever you’d like to get away, sometimes you...

Brew fit for a king (or a president). Arkansas has always been a haven for beer drinkers, but for years it never had beer it could call its own. Diamond Bear Brewing Company changed that. And along the way, they just happened to garner the attention of a former president, who, rumor has it, lists their IPA as his favorite brew. If he wasn’t, he’d pop right on up and head over to Blue Blood Brewing Company for a pint of their fantastic beer. Founded in December 2011 by a couple of guys with a love for craft beer, including former...

Dogs Allowed: A Look at Kansas City’s New Dog Bars If you know where to look, there are some really cool bars in Kansas City that let you bring your dog. But what if there was a watering hole where dogs were not only allowed, but encouraged? A place where you could go to hang out with dogs, your friends, and maybe even some dog-loving singles, if that’s what you’re looking for? You’re in luck. Kansas City is soon to have not one, but two such establishments in the very near future. Of course, I’m talking about Dog Park...
